Buttler collects MBE from Buckingham Palace

The England wicketkeeper was awarded the title in the Queen's New Years Honours list after the dramatic ICC Cricket World Cup win

Lancashire and England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler has collected his MBE from the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, at Buckingham Palace.

Buttler was recognised in the Queens New Year's Honours list after playing his part in England's remarkable ICC Cricket World Cup triumph last summer.

The 29-year-old collected his award alongside Ben Stokes, who was handed an OBE for his heroics in an England shirt throughout the summer.

Also recognised from the national side were Eoin Morgan, Joe Root and Head Coach, Trevor Bayliss. ECB Chairman, Colin Graves, also collected a CBE for services to sport.

Buttler will be in attendance at the free Cricket Expo event at Emirates Old Trafford this weekend, posing for pictures alongside the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy and delivering a batting masterclass alongside Lancashire Head Coach, Glen Chapple.

A raft of high profile speakers for the weekend have been confirmed including Andrew Flintoff, David 'Bumble' Lloyd and James Anderson.
