Liam Livingstone lights up BBL
The Lancashire opener has found his groove with back-to-back half-centuries Down Under
A pair of scintillating fifties has propelled Liam Livingstone up the run-scoring charts in this season's Big Bash League with Perth Scorchers.
Livingstone followed up 54 vs Hobart Hurricanes in a rampant nine-wicket win with 67 against defending champions Sydney Sixers.
Though the second of those games ended in defeat, the right-hander has helped propel the Perth outfit back towards the top of the table after a stuttering start.
With the all-rounder becoming available shortly after Christmas following a period in quarantine, the Scorchers put together five-game winning streak which included three from three on home turf at Optus Stadium.
That was followed by the trouncing of the Hurricanes, which saw Livingstone and Jason Roy put on an opening stand of 123, the second highest partnership of the tournament so far.
Now in his groove, the 27-year-old smashed one of the most powerful knocks of the tournament, launching six sixes and three fours in making 67 from 38 balls.
It takes his haul to 190 runs from seven games striking at 125, and the Scorchers are fifth in a congested mid-table with a game in hand coming tomorrow morning against Brisbane Heat.
