Lancashire Cricket Statement - Cricket Disciplinary Commission

Lancashire Cricket can confirm that it has pleaded guilty to the charges directed towards the Club by the Cricket Disciplinary Commission (CDC).

The Club is extremely disappointed that it has reached the cumulative threshold of on-field offences over a 12-month period.

Over the course of the 2021 season, Lancashire Cricket strengthened its players’ code of conduct and disciplinary procedures as a result of charges brought against the Club.

The CDC has recognised Lancashire Cricket’s previous good track record over a long period of time before these charges.

It was also stated in the report that the Club had gone ‘beyond what other Counties have done in similar circumstances, for which Lancashire Cricket are to be commended’ which relates to unilateral action that the Club took directly without prompting.

Lancashire Captain Dane Vilas said: “This is something that the players are taking very seriously, and on behalf of the squad, I would like to apologise for the charges that have been brought against the Club.

“We are proud to represent the Red Rose and remain fully aware of the standards we must uphold. Over the course of the winter, we will re-iterate this message to the whole group to improve our on-field discipline.”
