Livingstone joins up with Rajasthan Royals for IPL
Lancashire Cricket can confirm that Liam Livingstone will miss the Club’s final two LV= Insurance County Championship matches of the season.
The all-rounder has departed today for the UAE to join up with Rajasthan Royals for the conclusion of the 2021 Indian Premier League.
Livingstone has enjoyed a stellar summer scoring 279 runs at an average of 55 for Lancashire Lightning in the Vitality Blast, before joining up with England’s white ball squad.
The 28-year-old then smashed the fastest ever IT20 century by an Englishman - from just 42 balls against Pakistan at Trent Bridge - cementing his place in Eoin Morgan’s side as he was named Player of the Series.
Earlier this week, Livingstone was named in England’s 15-man T20 World Cup squad which will get underway in the UAE and Oman immediately following the IPL’s conclusion.
Director of Cricket, Paul Allott commented: “It has been agreed by all parties that Liam will head out to the IPL in order to best prepare for the upcoming IT20 World Cup, which starts in October.
“Everybody at Lancashire Cricket wishes Liam all the best for the busy winter which lies ahead.”
