Bell century for Second XI at Glamorgan

George Bell hit a brilliant unbeaten century on Day Two as Lancashire lead Glamorgan by 20 runs in the Second XI encounter at Newport.

Bell will resume the third day on 103 not out with Lancashire on 322-6, joined by Jack Blatherwick (17*) at the crease.

Bell's 103 came off 195 balls and contained 11 fours. The 18-year-old reached his century when he crashed Lewis through the covers for a boundary. He was supported by Tom Hartley who scored a well-made 77.

The pair added 139 for the fifth wicket partnership after Lancashire were reduced from 75-1 to 87-4, with Jamie McIlory who picked up 3-39 causing the damage.

Ben Walkden made 30 while there were also contributions from Rob Jones (29) and Subhaan Mahmood (29).

This was after Jack Morley finished the Glamorgan innings finishing with figures of 4-48.

It took the left arm spinner three deliveries to finish off the innings bowling McIlory for 26.
