LancsTV nominated at prestigious Broadcast Sports Awards

LancsTV has been nominated for the YouTube Channel of the Year at the prestigious Broadcast Sports Awards.

The Broadcast Sport Awards 2022 honour the most creative and inspiring examples of sports production, sports broadcast and digital sports content of the last year, whilst also highlighting the outstanding people working both in-front-of and behind the camera.

LancsTV will be going up against Sky Sports Premier League, The Overlap, LADbible TV, Racing Post and Lord’s Cricket Ground in the category of YouTube Channel of the Year.

The 20 categories at the awards cover everything from sports documentaries and live sport production, the pundits and presenters, to social media content, advertising and marketing campaigns.

A panel of illustrious sports industry judges will now choose winners from each of the shortlisted categories, which can be viewed here. The winners will be revealed on 1 November 2022, at a gala awards dinner at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

LancsTV is widely regarded to be leading the way in live online domestic cricket broadcasting with a 13-camera operation, live commentary and a number of digital innovations such as mic’ing up players during live play and connecting them with supporters watching at home via Skype. The Club's live stream is delivered by Media-City based production company, Badger & Combes.

In addition to this, the Club have created a number of new shows and features based around our newly built in-house LancsTV studio set-up. From this, the Club have created programmes such as the Red Rose Review, The Thunder Show (a dedicated show to women’s cricket at Emirates Old Trafford) and Beyond the Boundary, as well as pre and post-match analysis featuring the likes of Paul Allott and David Lloyd.

Lancashire Cricket CEO Daniel Gidney, said: “To be on the shortlist for this award is just reward for the hard work and effort that has gone into LancsTV this year.

“To be going up against some of the biggest names in world sport is exactly where we want Lancashire Cricket to be. Our digital output, including the live stream broadcasts and video on demand content, have been outstanding this year and it’s great to see the team recognised for their output.

“The live streams have been a game-changer for cricket supporters throughout the country and with the development of our LancsTV studio, we continue to take our broadcasts to the next level. We really hope Lancashire Members and supporters have enjoyed the enhanced coverage this summer across our channels.”

Lancs TV has also been nominated in The Cricketer Magazine’s LV= Insurance Pride of Cricket Awards 2022 in the Media Hero category. Votes can be casted here.

The public vote accounts for 50% of the overall judging in each category, with the other half decided by a jury of cricket writers and representatives from LV= Insurance.
