Lancashire Cricket celebrates South Asian Heritage Month 2022

LancsTV caught up with Ammar Ashraf - Urban Cricket Manager for the Lancashire Cricket Foundation - and former Lancashire and Pakistan fast bowler, Wasim Akram, on the impact which South Asian communities have had on the Club throughout its long history and the work being done in the present day to engage more South Asian cricketers with the Red Rose.

South Asian Heritage Month first took place in 2020 and runs from 18th July to 17th August each year. The month seeks to commemorate, mark and celebrate South Asian cultures, histories and communities. It also seeks to understand the diverse heritage and cultures that continue to link the UK with South Asia.

To celebrate South Asian Heritage Month 2022, we have also taken a look back at five of the most famous cricketers of South Asian descent to wear the Red Rose throughout history, which you can read by clicking here.
