13-man squad named to face Northants at Emirates Old Trafford
Head Coach Glen Chapple has named a 13-man squad to take on Northamptonshire in the LV= Insurance County Championship, starting tomorrow (25 July) at Emirates Old Trafford.
Lancashire will be without Daryl Mitchell who misses the final match of his scheduled overseas spell with the Club. Due to Mitchell's unforeseen late selection in The Hundred, he is required to leave the UK in order to apply for a new visa therefore it was decided between the player, the Club and New Zealand Cricket that he would use this week as a rest period.
Everybody at the Club would like to thank Daryl for efforts and commitment since arriving at Emirates Old Trafford in May which has seen him make four appearances in the County Championship and 14 in the Vitality Blast. We wish him well for the rest of the summer which includes an IT20 for New Zealand against England at Emirates Old Trafford in September.
Jack Blatherwick (hamstring) and Luke Wood (toe) have both recovered from minor injuries sustained in the build up to last week's draw against Warwickshire at Edgbaston and have been named in the 13-man squad.
The Red Rose head into the Division One clash at Emirates Old Trafford in sixth place with 100 points.
