Bohannon and Morris collect the top prizes at End of Season Awards
Josh Bohannon and Fi Morris collected the top prizes at Lancashire Cricket’s annual End of Season Awards, held in The Point at Emirates Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.
Top order batter Bohannon was crowned Lancashire Cricket’s CMS Law Men’s Player of the Year – as voted for by Members and supporters - while all-rounder Morris took home the Hilton Thunder Player of the Year award for 2023 in her first season since joining the Club.
There was double success for Bohannon who also scooped Hilton County Championship Player of the Year after finishing as One’s leading Division run scorer with 1,257 runs – including four centuries.
Morris also collected another award as she was named Sportsbreaks.com Thunder T20 Player of the Year after picking up seven wickets and scoring 209 runs to help her side reach Finals Day. Men’s CMS Law T20 Player of the Year went to Luke Wood following his 18 wickets taken at an average of just 22.
Both captains took home trophies as Keaton Jennings (369 runs) was named Heineken One Day Player of the Year and Ellie Threlkeld (287 runs & 9 dismissals) UA92 One Day Player of the Year, following their strong performances in List A cricket this summer.
Men’s UA92 Young Player of the Year was awarded to George Balderson following a excellent all-round season in the County Championship and Metro Bank One Day Cup while Olivia Bell won Thunder’s equivalent award after an impressive breakthrough campaign that saw her take 25 wickets in just eight matches.
James Dixon was named Disability Player of the Year from Lancashire Cricket’s County Disability squads with Alex Brooks taking home the Most Improved Disability Player of the Year award.
The evening was hosted by LancsTV’s Fraser Dainton and included a Q&A session with Keaton Jennings, Ellie Threlkeld, Josh Bohannon, and Fi Morris as both squads came together alongside staff, Members, and supporters to look back on the 2023 season in The Point at Emirates Old Trafford.
