Jack Blatherwick extends contract with Lancs until 2025
Lancashire Cricket is delighted to announce that pace bowler Jack Blatherwick has extended his contract with the Club until the end of the 2025 season.
Blatherwick becomes the fourth player to put pen-to-paper on a new deal at Emirates Old Trafford during the close season – joining Josh Bohannon, Tom Bailey, and Luke Wells in extending his stay.
The 25-year-old quick has made 23 First Team appearances since joining Lancashire from Nottinghamshire ahead of the 2021 season - picking up 37 wickets for the Club at an average of 31.
He has a best of 4-28 to his name, which came in the September 2021 Championship win over Somerset at Taunton. After Lancashire had posted 373 live on Sky Sports, Blatherwick helped demolish the hosts for just 90 amidst a fearsome spell.
During the 2023 season, Blatherwick claimed 2/21 on Vitality Blast debut against former Club Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge and also took 10 wickets in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
After extending his contract, Jack Blatherwick said: “I am excited to have signed with Lancs for two more seasons and I am looking forward working hard over the winter and during pre-season and staking my claim for regular First Team cricket in all three formats next season.
“I have really enjoyed my time at Emirates Old Trafford so far, we have a great group of lads with lots of talent in the squad and I want to play my part in bringing success back to the Club over the next few years.”
Director of Cricket Performance Mark Chilton added: “We are pleased that Jack has extended his contract with us for another two seasons and look forward to his continued development and building on the progress that he has made since joining us in late 2020.
“Jack made an impressive T20 debut last summer and also appeared more regularly in the County Championship and Metro Bank One Day Cup which will have provided him with an important level of experience to take into the next couple of years.”
