Somerset 2nd inns 114-3 lead by 149 runs
A wicket in the final over and Saqib Mahmood deserved that.

He has put in a real shift this evening and has bowled George Bartlett for 12. Great finish to a memorable day.

5.35pm, WICKET!
Somerset 2nd inns 94-2 lead by 129 runs, Lammonby 35  Bartlett 0.
Tom Abell has played some lovely shots in making 48 but that wasn't one of them!

The visitor's skipper played a reverse sweep but missed the ball and was bowled round his legs by Tom Hartley.

Somerset 2nd inns 77-1 lead by 112 runs, Lammonby 20  Abell 46.
Somerset captain Tom Abell has struck the ball effectively to extend his side's lead past the hundred mark as the Red Rose bowlers strive for a breakthrough.

We still have 12 overs to bowl today.

Somerset 2nd inns 13-1 lead by 48 runs, Lammonby 4  Abell 0.
Will Williams makes an early breakthrough bowling Steven Davies for 9 after the batter plays on. Great start!

Lancashire 1st inns 326 all out (100.5 overs) trail by 35 runs.
Daryl Mitchell is receiving a standing ovation as he walks off after pulling Matt Henry to Tom Lammonby at midwicket for 105.

With Jimmy Anderson not batting, Lancashire are all out.

A 98-run partnership comes to an end as Tom Hartley hooks Matt Henry down to Tom Abell at deep square leg after making an invaluable 47 that included one six pulled way over midwicket.

A century to Daryl Mitchell on his Lancashire debut!

It has been a fabulous effort by the New Zealand international becomes just the ninth Lancashire batter to score a century on his first appearance for the club.

Daryl Mitchell has come out playing his shots after tea.

He's just taken 14 off the last over from Kasey Aldridge including a six over long-on. 

4.00pm, TEA Day 3
Lancashire 1st inns 265-7 (93 overs) trail by 96 runs, Mitchell 76 Hartley 17
Daryl Mitchell and Tom Hartley have made it through to tea adding 32 runs for the eighth wicket so far.

Mitchell has batted beautifully, and his runs have been priceless for Lancashire as they whittle down the Somerset lead, now below three figures.

The first batting point also arrived just before the break.

It has been slow, steady progress by Lancashire as we head towards tea, with Overton and Henry bowling searching spells with the new ball.

Lancashire 1st inns 233-7 (80.5 overs) trail by 128 runs, Mitchell 61 Hartley 0
Craig Overton returns to the Somerset attack armed with the new ball and trying to break this partnership of 57 between Daryl Mitchell and George Bell.

He does it with the fifth delivery as Bell edges to second slip for 38 to end a pretty decent innings from the young wicketkeeper.

Lancashire 1st inns 210-6 (72 overs) trail by 151 runs, Mitchell 52 Bell 24
Daryl Mitchell pulls Kasey Aldridge for four to reach his fifty from 106 balls with one six and 5 fours. It's been a valuable, debut contribution.

Lancashire 1st inns 198-6 (70 overs) trail by 163 runs, Mitchell 46 Bell 18
That early wicket of Dane Vilas straight after lunch has resulted in a tense, defensive passage of play as Daryl Mitchell and George Bell look to keep the Somerset attack at bay.

Jack Leach and Kasey Aldridge currently sharing the bowling duties with the new ball ten overs away.

Lancashire 1st inns 177-6 (64 overs) trail by 184 runs, Mitchell 43 Bell 0
A lively over from Matt Henry straight after lunch, with Dane Vilas helping himself to a couple of boundaries but then lbw for 15 when Henry brought one back to hit Vilas, crouching, in front. 

An early afternoon blow struck by the visitors.

1.10pm, LUNCH Day 3
Lancashire 1st inns 167-5 (60 overs) trail by 194 runs, Mitchell 42 Vilas 6
We've seen some good, positive batting from George Balderson (71) and Daryl Mitchell this morning and a fine effort from Craig Overton who has taken all three wickets - all caught behind - today.

Notwithstanding the fall of wickets, that has been a good morning's cricket. Back for more at 1.50pm.

Lancashire 1st inns 159-5 (56.3 overs) trail by 205 runs, Mitchell 41 Vilas 0
George Balderson's excellent effort from the top of the order is ended by Craig Overton's third ball of a new spell from the James Anderson end.

Balderson had survived a big lbw shout the ball before (which pitched outside leg stump) and then played slightly hesitantly at the next ball cleverly angled across the left hander and nicked it to wicketkeeper Davies after making 71.

Lancashire 1st inns 156-4 (54 overs) trail by 205 runs, Balderson 71 Mitchell 41
Yet more positive cricket from Daryl Mitchell who greeted Josh Davey's introduction into the attack with a lofted drive for four over mid-on.

Four overs later he's repeated the shot off the same bowler but this one has gone all the way - six!

The fifty partnership between George Balderson and Daryl Mitchell has arrived from 15 overs and one ball.

Mitchell then adds to these much needed runs with a sweep for four off Jack Leach.

Daryl Mitchell has made a positive start, thumping Matt Henry for four over mid-on and reverse sweeping Jack Leach for another boundary.

George Balderson is going along nicely while Jack Leach is producing an excellent spell from the James Anderson end.

George Balderson reaches his sixth first-class fifty with a four to the vacant third man boundary. It's his second of the season following 91 in his previous innings against Notts.

Steven Croft edges down the legside for 7 as the Overton-Davies combination claims a second wicket of the morning.

New overseas player Daryl Mitchell marches out for his first Red Rose innings.

Not the best start to the day for Lancashire.

Nightwatchman Will Williams pushes forward to the first ball from Craig Overton and feathers a catch to wicketkeeper Steven Davies.

Goodmorning from a very sunny Emirates Old Trafford as we get ready for the third day of our LV= County Championship match against Somerset.

Once again we will be playing 104 overs to help make up some of the time lost to rain on Thursday.

That means we starting at 11am, lunch is at 1.10pm and tea is at 4pm. The close is scheduled for 6.30pm providing all the overs have been bowled.

Lancashire will resume their first innings on 72-2 with George Balderson on 38 and nightwatchman Will Williams is 0 not out.
