Prospects of Play:

8:42pm - Match Abandoned. Unfortunately the rain wins this evening.

The points are shared which secures Lancashire Lightning's qualification into the knockout stages of the Vitality Blast.

Thank you for your patience this evening and we look forward to seeing you again at Emirates Old Trafford soon.

8:35pm - The wait goes on. A decision hasn't been made yet but it's looking increasingly unlikely that there will be any play this evening as we get closer to the 9.29pm cut-off time at Emirates Old Trafford.

7:45pm - Unfortunately, there's no further updates to bring you from Emirates Old Trafford. The rain is coming down once again and there will be no further inspections until it's stopped.

A reminder, the latest we can start is 9.29pm for a 5-overs per side match.

7:20pm - The rain has returned and the clean-up operation has been halted. Not the news we wanted to bring you but prospects of play are not looking good. An inspection had taken place prior to the rain returning.

7:00pm - The grounds team have got into action in the last 20 minutes to clear up some standing water from the covers. In the mean time, tune into Sky Sports cricket as they speak to Jos Buttler in the pod.

6.30pm - Nothing official yet but it's safe to assume that we are set for a delayed start at Emirates Old Trafford. There's still some rain around at the moment but supporters are beginning to make their way to their seats.

6.00pm - The match officials and grounds staff have been out in the middle to take a look in the last few minutes. There is a bit more rain around again and they will continue to monitor the weather. Nothing imminent.

5.25pm - The rain has been stopped for the last 15 minutes, or so. Fingers crossed that it stays like this for long enough for the clean-up operation to get underway. We'll bring you any news when we get it.

5.05pm - Gates are now open at Emirates Old Trafford. There's still some very light rain around but there has been a definite improvement in conditions in the last hour as people begin to make their way into the ground.

4.20pm - Unfortunately, there isn't much positive news to bring you as we approach gates opening here at Emirates Old Trafford. Light drizzle persists with heavier bursts arriving regularly throughout the last hour.

The grounds team have been unable to do any work on the outfield so far while the covers remain in place.

3.30pm - With the rain still falling at Emirates Old Trafford, below are some useful timings for this evening:

  • 5pm - gates open
  • 7pm - scheduled start time
  • 9.29pm - final cut-off for a 5-overs per side match

As soon as there is any news from the umpires regarding inspections in the coming hours, we will update this page and our social media channels. Any decisions on play will be taken by the umpires only, not the Club.

3:00pm - It's still raining ever so slightly. Just enough rain is coming down to prevent the grounds team from being able to begin any sort of clean up operation at the moment.

In the meantime, why don't you check out this evening's match preview.
