Squads selected for 2023 pre-season tour
Lancashire Cricket has confirmed its travelling men’s and women’s squads for the 2023 pre-season tour – sponsored by Hilton.
The men’s and Lancashire Thunder squads will depart from Manchester to Dubai on Saturday 11 March for warm weather training at the ICC Academy, the Emirates 7’s Stadium and staying at the Conrad Dubai. Thunder will then embark on an historic second leg of the pre-season tour to Mumbai on 19 March whilst Glen Chapple’s squad remain in Dubai.
Newly appointed Men’s Captain Keaton Jennings will lead the men’s 22-player squad whilst Thunder’s 15-player travelling party will be led by Ellie Threlkeld.
Saqib Mahmood will join up with the men's squad in Dubai after making his return to action following a back injury during England's ODI series in Bangladesh earlier this month.
Tom Aspinwall, Josh Boyden, Matthew Hurst and Harry Singh have all been included in a tour squad for the first time since signing rookie contracts with the Club.
James Anderson and Richard Gleeson will both remain in the UK to rest whilst Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone and Phil Salt are all in action at the Indian Premier League (IPL).
England internationals Kate Cross and Emma Lamb have both been named in Thunder’s squad and they are also joined by Alex Hartley as well as new additions Naomi Dattani and Fi Morris.
Tara Norris – who also moved to Thunder during the winter from Southern Vipers – misses the tour after the USA international was drafted to Delhi Capitals in the first edition of the Women’s IPL.
28-year-old Off-spinner Steph Butler - who has been training with Thunder throughout the winter - has also been named in the squad after leaving Central Sparks at the end of last season.

FIXTURES
Both sides will be in T20 doubleheader action at the Emirates 7’s Stadium, Dubai on Wednesday 15 March as they take on a UAE men’s and women’s XI respectively.
The remainder of the men’s tour will focus on centre wicket practice, net sessions, and fitness work in Dubai - as they build towards their season opener against Surrey on Thursday 6 April.
Thunder will then play a series of One-Day matches at the ICC Academy in Dubai before heading to India on 19 March. The second leg of their tour will see Thunder train and play at Reliance Park in Mumbai – the home of the Mumbai Indians men’s and women’s IPL franchises.
