Thunder and Sunrisers clash abandoned at Sale
Just 80 minutes of play was possible between Thunder and Sunrisers as their Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy match at Sale Cricket Club fell foul of the weather.
With increasingly heavy showers scudding across Manchester, the start was delayed by 10 minutes after the visitors won the toss and elected to field.
Sunrisers made the most of the difficult conditions with Eva Gray claiming the wicket of Seren Smale, clean bowled for 0, in just the second over of the game.
An almost identical delivery accounted for Fi Morris, who departed for 8, leaving Thunder 34-2 and skipper Ellie Threlkeld coming to the crease to join England's Emma Lamb.
The pair had reached 60-2 with Lamb progressing nicely on 38 not out when the rain came with the umpires eventually abandoning play at 3.30pm.
