Trafford Live returns to Emirates Old Trafford this summer

Trafford Live returns to Emirates Old Trafford this summer

Lancashire Cricket Club and Trafford Council are set to host the biggest family day out of the summer together on Fathers' Day, Sunday 18 June!

Following the highly successful event in July 2019, Lancashire Cricket is delighted to once again be joining forces with Trafford Council, as the Club incorporates the Vitality Blast fixture against Durham (2.30pm start) as part of their family friendly, Trafford Live event, which celebrates the best of Trafford.

The joint festival, a free event that returns for the first time since 2019 due to Covid-19, will be held within the grounds of the Town Hall on Talbot Road and the Fan Village at Emirates Old Trafford and will be open for all to attend. Visitors can experience a range of events, activities and displays which will all be designed to showcase the Borough’s sports, history and culture offering, with a bit of everything for both the young and old to enjoy.

The Emirates Old Trafford Fan Village will be free to enter, with tickets for the Fathers' Day fixture priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors. There is also a specific ticket offer for Trafford residents with free tickets for kids and just £5 for adults.

Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Lancashire Cricket Club, said: “We are thrilled to be teaming up with Trafford Council to get involved with Trafford Live once again. We have a fantastic relationship with the council and we’re really looking forward to being part of this long-standing family event for a third time as we focus on making cricket more accessible to our community.

“It is a brilliant event for the people of Trafford to attend and a great opportunity for them to get behind their local side. We hope to welcome even more residents through the gates of Emirates Old Trafford this year, to watch the likes of England stars Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone and Phil Salt in action for Lancashire Lightning’s fixture against Durham.”

Sara Todd, Chief Executive of Trafford Council, added: “It’s wonderful to have Trafford Live returning. There’s something for everyone, from story time, local performers, or a chance to meet our Armed Forces.

“There’s also our Stall Zone where you can find out how you can get more involved in your communities, as well as the fantastic Fan Village at Lancashire Cricket. It’s going to be a great event for all the family and I’d urge everyone to come along and enjoy the fun.”

Trafford Live will run from 11am to 4pm and includes the following zones:

Zone 1: Armed Forces - Celebrate the contribution to Trafford of our Armed Forces and meet the people who keep us safe.

Zone 2: Stall Zone - Celebrate Trafford’s diverse communities and find out how you can get involved in your neighbourhood.

Zone 3: Children's Activity Zone - Join in the fun with Trafford Libraries!

Zone 4: Entertainment Zone - Come on down to the Sunken Gardens where local performers will showcase Trafford’s vibrant artistic talent.

Zone 5: Nature Zone - Come and learn about the environment and find out all you need to know about tree planting, nature-based volunteering and more.

Zone 7: Sports Zone - Be active with Trafford’s sporting clubs, join in the fun activations with the cricket foundation and meet the mascots!
