Jennings and Smale win headline End of Season Awards

Keaton Jennings and Seren Smale picked up the headline prizes at Lancashire Cricket’s End of Season Awards held in The Point at Emirates Old Trafford on Friday evening.

Jennings picked up Lancashire Cricket’s Player of the Year, in addition to County Championship Player of the Year, with Smale also winning double as she was named Lancashire Thunder Player of the Year and Charlotte Edwards Cup Player of the Year for the 2024 season.

Matty Hurst rounded off a brilliant breakthrough campaign as the 20-year-old wicketkeeper was named Men’s Young Player of the Year and was also voted as the 1864 Members’ Player of the Year.

Hannah Jones was named as Lancashire Thunder’s Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy Player of the Year, meanwhile Thunder’s Young Player of the Year went to 20-year-old Sophie Morris.

Australian all-rounder Chris Green – who re-signed for the Club on a two-year T20 deal this week – was awarded T20 Player of the Year after an outstanding debut season at Emirates Old Trafford.

The evening also saw Steven Croft honoured on stage following his retirement after a 21-year playing career with the Club, whilst retiring first team scorer Chris Rimmer was recognised for his service.

Lancashire’s Disability squads’ success was also celebrated with Ben Hawkins named Disability Player of the Year, with Shoaib Nazir receiving Most Improved Disability Player of the Year.

The annual End of Season Awards was attended by over 150 guests including current and former players, Club Partners and Members.
