Lancashire Cricket Club launches Red Rose Together
In the year which marks the Club’s 160th anniversary, Lancashire Cricket has announced the launch of Red Rose Together - a wide-ranging campaign to highlight the range of the Club’s key activities that drive a love of the game and make cricket accessible to all.
Supporting the Club’s mission of growing a passionate Red Rose Family, Red Rose Together aims to celebrate and champion the work that is undertaken to make cricket more accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.
Throughout the 2024 season, the Red Rose Together campaign will spotlight some of the Club’s key activities with the sole aim of supporting the growth of cricket across the North-West.
Activities to support the growth of the game across Lancashire, and as part of the Red Rose Together campaign will include:
- Breaking down barriers for women and girls – Groundbreaking investment into the women and girls’ game, and how the support from Club partners will see a new era of domestic cricket at both the professional and grassroots level.
- Investment in Communities - Delivering, through the Lancashire Cricket Foundation, a range of cricket programs in schools and communities, aimed at inspiring participation in the game as well as investment in facilities.
- Supporting Grassroots - Fundraising and donation activity throughout the year, including match days and at corporate events, supporting the Lancashire Cricket Foundation who aim to bring communities together using the power of cricket. Additional focus will be placed on increasing the number of volunteers across the recreational game, as well as growing the number accessible cricket programs for people with disabilities, as well as bursaries to support talented young cricketers.
- Facility Improvements – Further developments at Emirates Old Trafford including a refurbished multi-faith room and increased number of accessible facilities to create a more inclusive venue.
- Welcoming Culture – Driving cultural change in the game across the region, driven by our newly appointed Equity, Diversity & Inclusion lead, Helen Davies – with an ambition to connect diverse fans and communities with the Red Rose and make Lancashire Cricket a Club for all.
