6.42pm, CLOSE Day 1
Lancashire 1st inns 350-9 (96 overs) Mahmood 40* Lyon 5*
Will Williams was lbw to Raine for 2 but Saqib Mahmood has hit a six and five fours in an enterprising Lancashire-best of 40.

5.58pm
Lancashire 1st inns 303-8 (84.5 overs) Mahmood 8* Williams 0*.
What a fabulous catch by Ollie Robinson! The Durham wicketkeeper takes off to his left to take an outstanding one-handed catch down the leg side off Matty Hurst who is out for 20.

5.55pm
Lancashire 1st inns 302-7 (84 overs) Hurst 20* Mahmood 8*.
Saqib Mahmood thumps a straight six off Ben Raine to bring up the Lancashire 300 and second batting point!

5.39pm
Lancashire 1st inns 287-7 (81 overs) Hurst 14* Mahmood 0*.
Ben Raine strikes with the third delivery using the new ball as Tom Aspinwall edges to second slip for 2.

5.26pm
Lancashire 1st inns 285-6 (77 overs) Hurst 14* Aspinwall 0*.
Ben Stokes strikes again as Tom Bruce, who was going along nicely, gets a leading edge to a shorter delivery with the ball lobbing gently back to the bowler.

4.52pm
Lancashire 1st inns 255-5 (69.1 overs) Bruce 32* Hurst 0*.
George Balderson edges behind off Matty Potts for 14, and the Durham bowler finally gets a deserved second wicket.

4.37pm
Lancashire 1st inns 231-4 (65 overs) Bruce 20* Balderson 6*.
Back after tea with Tom Bruce hammering a long hop from Callum Parkinson for four.

4.12pm, TEA Day 1
Lancashire 1st inns 225-4 (64 overs) Bruce 15* Balderson 5*.
Durham have fought hard to get themselves back into this game and to some extent they have done that, taking three wickets and slowing the scoring in the second half of this session.

Thanks to Keaton Jennings' century Lancashire are still in a good position after being put in to bat, with the wicket showing signs of taking spin.

3.46pm
Lancashire 1st inns 214-4 (57 overs) Bruce 11* Balderson 0*.
Keaton Jennings departs for 115 after he lofts Callum Parkinson into the hands of Scott Borthwick at mid-on.

Excellent innings by the skipper.

3.40pm
Lancashire 1st inns 211-3 (55 overs) Jennings 113* Bruce 10*.
Spin for the first time today as left arm spinner Callum Parkinson comes on to bowl and nearly gets a wicket first ball as Tom Bruce chips over the fielder at cover.

3.16pm
Lancashire 1st inns 185-3 (49.1 overs) Jennings 101* Bruce 0*.
Keaton Jennings steers Matty Potts to third man for four to reach his 13th century for Lancashire and it's the 28th of his career.

Keaton's century came from 137 balls in 218 minutes with 15 fours!

3.10pm
Lancashire 1st inns 181-3 (48.4 overs) Jennings 97* Bruce 0*.
Ben Stokes third spell today has ended with figures of 6-2-23-1 and the England captain in conjunction with Matty Potts has seen the Durham duo put the Lancashire batters under pressure since Stokes got his wicket.

George Bell had a tough time against Potts in the previous over and he edges Paul Coughlin behind after making 8.

2.30pm
Lancashire 1st inns 163-2 (40 overs) Jennings 87* Bell 0*.
Ben Stokes has a wicket! Josh Bohannon top edges a pull off a short delivery that goes high to Callum Parkinson at deep backward square, and he's gone for 39.

1.55pm
Lancashire 1st inns 128-1 (31 overs) Jennings 78* Bohannon 16*.
It's raining boundaries after lunch with five so far in the first three overs of the session, Josh Bohannon driving Paul Coughlin through long off and then wristily flicking the bowler to the square leg fence.

Keaton Jennings has helped himself to three of them, twice turning Ben Raine to midwicket.

A very positive start by the Red Rose after lunch.

1.00pm, LUNCH Day 1
Lancashire 1st inns 104-1 (28 overs) Jennings 62* Bohannon 8*.
After losing the toss and being put in to bat, that has been an excellent morning for Lancashire with Keaton Jennings looking in great touch and steering his side into a good position at the break.

Ben Stokes has bowled six overs in a couple of spells and in his first game it's understandable he's struggled to get straight back into a rhythm straight away.

12.50pm
Lancashire 1st inns 99-1 (26 overs) Jennings 59* Bohannon 6*.
A double bowling change as Ben Stokes and Ben Raine return for second spells as Durham hunt a second wicket before lunch.

12.39pm
Lancashire 1st inns 93-1 (22 overs) Jennings 56* Bohannon 4*.
Josh Bohannon has received some absolute snorters from both Matty Potts and Paul Coughlin but he's survived and will be feeling a bit better now after rocking back and pulling Potts for four through backward square leg.

12.27pm
Lancashire 1st inns 87-1 (19.4 overs) Jennings 54* Bohannon 0*.
This good opening partnership is finally broken on 87 when Luke Wells edges Matty Potts to second slip where Colin Ackermann takes a fairly comfortable waist high catch to his left.

12.20pm
Lancashire 1st inns 80-0 (18 overs) Wells 26* Jennings 50*.
We've had the first six of the day, Luke Wells clipping Paul Coughlin to Callum Parkinson at fine leg with his diving attempt to take the catch bouncing off his hands and over the ropes for six.

Ben Stokes first spell comes to an end after four overs that cost 26 runs.

And Keaton Jennings goes to his fifty off only 63 balls with a lovely back foot punch for four off Matty Potts.

12.10pm
Lancashire 1st inns 63-0 (16 overs) Wells 20* Jennings 39*.
The fifty partnership has arrived for the opening wicket with both Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells driving a couple of boundaries and Jennings pulling a short ball from Ben Stokes for four.

But Jennings had a close call when on 28, edging Paul Coughlin between wicketkeeper and first slip with neither moving to take the catch.

11.40am
Lancashire 1st inns 29-0 (10 overs) Wells 9* Jennings 20*.
Ben Stokes is brought on to bowl the 10th over and looks pretty sharp. He got a warm round of applause from the crowd at Stanley Park too.

Luke Wells clips the third ball of the over to fine leg for four.

11.37am
Lancashire 1st inns 25-0 (9 overs) Wells 5* Jennings 20*.
Red Rose opening pair Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings have made a steady start, Jennings punishing anything short or over pitched has kept the scoreboard moving.

There have been a few unsuccessful lbw appeals with Ben Raine in particular getting the ball past the bat, but without reward so far.

11.15am
Lancashire 1st inns 10-0 (4 overs) Wells 0* Jennings 10*.
The first boundaries of the day arrive in the same Matty Potts over, Keaton Jennings thrashing the first through cover while the second comes from a thick edge that bounces through the gap between gully and point.

11.05am
Lancashire 1st inns 0-0 (1 over) Wells 0* Jennings 0*.
Ben Raine is bowling the first over from the North End to Luke Wells which is a maiden, and Matty Potts has the ball for the second over.
