Further rain has started to fall and play has been abandoned for the day.

Finally the rain has arrived and the players are coming off.

Ed Barnard is playing his shots, sweeping Jack Morley for six and nailing a sweep off Nathan Lyon that races to the square leg boundary.
There are loud rumbles of thunder around and plenty of dark clouds but we continue for now.

The weather - against all the forecasts - is holding up at present, with some dark clouds around, but it's been a bit like that for most of the day.

George Balderson produces an absolute snorter that rears up at Rob Yates, finds the edge and caught by wicketkeeper Matty Hurst for 5.

Jack Morley is trapped lbw by Jake Lintott with Matty Hurst left unbeaten on 20.
Lintott finishes with a career-best 3 for 10 and Jacob Bethell a career-best 4 for 20.

George Balderson is out for 12 although replays suggest he was unlucky after left arm spinner Jacob Bethell got a ball to turn sharply that went on to hit the wicketkeepers pad and caught at slip by Will Rhodes at first slip.
That ends a good partnership of 44 with Keaton Jennings.

Hassan Ali coming on for his bowl of the day and pleasingly the weather has brightened quite a bit over the last twenty minutes, so much that the impact of the floodlights being on has vanished.

The first ball back is edged high over gully by George Balderson who was rather reaching for a wide delivery from Olly Hannon-Dalby. That brings up the Red Rose hundred.

After a ten minute delay with 3 overs lost play has restarted with Olly Hannon-Dalby continuing from the Brian Statham End.
Keaton Jennings runs the second ball nicely down to the vacant third man boundary.

Rain suddenly arrives to take the players from the field and the hover cover is quickly in place on the wicket.
Leg byes have been the main run-scorer in the past few overs, Michael Rae flicking the pads of George Balderson for four leg byes to fine leg and in his next over hitting Balderson on the body with the ball flying down to the boundary once more.

The rain has abated and we are ready to start day three!

We were all ready for a prompt start at 11am, the Warwickshire team were actually out on the pitch when it started to drizzle, so we now have a delayed start!

Lancashire's T20 overseas signing Chris Green has been warming up with his new team mates this morning.

The weather continues to hold up at the moment and as things stand we will get under way at 11am.
The players are out warming up and practising ahead of the start.
There are however a lot of threatening looking clouds around the ground at present.

Conditionshave improved significantly in the last 45 minutes, with the clouds clearing a bit and some blue sky around and the groundstaff have started taking the covers off.
The umpires came and had a look at conditions and will return once the ground is cleared of all covers and sheets.

It is not an encouraging scene at Emirates Old Trafford ahead of the third day of our Vitality County Championship match.
Above is the current view we have of conditions with the covers in place and a lot of cloud overhead.
