Pre-Season Tour 2024 presented by Hilton
Lancashire Cricket is delighted to announce that the Club will embark on a pre-season tour to the UAE and India next week, as both the Men’s and Thunder squads step up their preparations ahead of the 2024 season – presented by long-standing Official Club Partner, Hilton.
On Thursday 7 March, Lancashire Lightning and Thunder will travel side-by-side to the UAE for the first leg of the tour which will see both squads train, play and take part in commercial events alongside several Official Club Partners in Dubai.
Both squads will then head to India from Monday 11 March, where they will be based in Bangalore, for further warm weather training that will include net sessions, match scenario practice and pre-season fixtures – preparing both squads for Dale Benkenstein and Chris Read’s first seasons in charge.
Further details including the announcement of both touring squads and confirmation of fixtures for the 2024 pre-season tour will be confirmed soon - with several matches set to be broadcast live on LancsTV.
In addition to this, whilst in Bangalore, the Club will be hosting ‘An evening with Lancashire Cricket’ in association with the British Deputy High Commission on Wednesday 13 March. The evening will feature a networking event for travel trade in collaboration with Visit Britan and Marketing Manchester - including a business panel with Lancashire Chair and CEO of British Olympic association Andy Anson OBE, and a cricket panel featuring Lancashire’s IPL and international players.
Guests will include local dignitaries and business leaders with the networking event focusing on Manchester as a tourism destination and how this can actively support aspirations for a wider trade agreement between the UK and India - ahead of the India Men’s cricket team playing at Emirates Old Trafford during the next few years.

Men’s Captain Keaton Jennings said: “The pre-season tour is always a highlight and something that we all look forward to as it marks the beginning of the season and a first chance of the year for us to get outside and train together as a squad in the warm weather.
“We always really enjoy our time in Dubai with its world-class facilities and to spend quality time with our global brand partners who do so much to support the wider Club and cricket programmes. To also have the additional leg to Bangalore is really exciting as it will be a new destination with a new set of challenges for many of our squad.
“As ever, we are proud that Lancashire Cricket is leading the way by sending both the men’s and women’s squads on pre-season tour together and we are extremely grateful to Hilton for their additional support.”
Thunder Captain Ellie Threlkeld commented: “For a third year in a row, we are incredibly excited to be heading on a joint Lancashire Lightning and Thunder pre-season tour.
“A lot of the Thunder squad including myself have been away during the winter so it is really nice that we will all be back together on tour with the new season just around the corner.
“I would like to echo Keaton’s comments about Hilton, their support for the Thunder programme has been incredible and we can’t thank them enough for all that they do.”
