SECOND XI REPORT: Boyden brace seals victory for Lancashire

Two wickets by Josh Boyden wrapped up a 58-run victory against Derbyshire inside fifteen minutes of the final day at Denby.

The hosts needed 66 runs to win but with only two wickets remaining when play commenced but Boyden’s brace ensured they did not come close to chasing those runs down.

The left arm seamer had Manraj Johal caught at cover for 16 from the fifth ball of the morning before bowling Rory Haydon for 4 with his 11th delivery of the day with Derbyshire 2nd innings 292 all out.

Jack Blatherwick finished the game with match figures of 11-146.

Points: Lancashire 20, Derbyshire 3.
