Second XI vs Worcestershire - Fixture update
Lancashire's Second XI Championship match against Worcestershire at Kidderminster, scheduled to start on Monday 6 May, has been cancelled.
The match has been called off as a mark of respect for Worcestershire spinner Josh Baker who sadly passed away earlier in the week.
Worcestershire CEO, Ashley Giles, said: “Given the events of just a few days ago and after speaking with Lancashire we felt it right that the game be cancelled. Everyone has been deeply impacted by Josh’s passing and this allows our players and management important time to grieve and reflect before returning to cricket.”
Lancashire Second XI will now play a two-day friendly fixture against the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA), hosted at Sale Cricket Club, starting on Tuesday 7 May.
Play will start at 10:30am on both days, finishing at 5:30pm.
