Croft names squad of 15 to face Kent with Anderson confirmed as captain

Read the latest squad news ahead of facing Kent at Blackpool Cricket Club's Stanley Park

Steven Croft has named a 15-man squad for his first red-ball match as Interim Men's Head Coach as Lancashire Cricket return to Rothesay County Championship action against Kent in Blackpool on Sunday.

In the absence of Marcus Harris, who was named red-ball captain in May, James Anderson will skipper the Red Rose for the first time in a competitive match.

Harris will miss the next two matches after returning to Australia for a short period as part of an agreement made when he signed for the Club for the 2025 season.

Fellow Australian overseas players, Chris Green and Ashton Turner, are both included in the red ball squad after featuring in all seven of Lancashire's opening Vitality Blast matches.

Turner could be in line to make his First-Class debut for the Red Rose alongside fast bowler Mitch Stanley who has also been named in the squad.

Anderson Phillip is absent after being named in the West Indies Test Match squad for their upcoming series against Australia.

George Bell is included following his 284 not out for the Second XI against Worcestershire in Southport earlier this week.

Tom Aspinwall misses out due to a side injury sustained in the Vitality Blast.

Squad to face Kent:

James Anderson (c), Tom Bailey, George Balderson, George Bell, Jack Blatherwick, Josh Bohannon, Chris Green, Tom Hartley, Matty Hurst, Keaton Jennings, Michael Jones, Mitch Stanley, Ashton Turner, Luke Wells, Will Williams

How to follow:

The match will be broadcast live and exclusive on LancsTV, with ball-by-ball radio commentary from Stanley Park provided by BBC Radio Lancashire's Scott Read on the BBC Sport website and app.

For those unable to follow the action live, there will be regular updates on the Club's social media channels and Match Centre, with highlights also posted on LancsTV.
