Jack Blatherwick signs new two-year contract with Lancashire Cricket

Lancashire Cricket is delighted to announce that Jack Blatherwick has signed a new two-year contract with the Club, committing his future at Emirates Old Trafford until the end of the 2027 season.

The 27-year-old fast bowler has been with Lancashire since joining from his boyhood county Nottinghamshire ahead of the 2021 campaign and has continued to develop into a key member of the Club’s playing staff across formats.

Blatherwick has become an important part of the Lancashire Lightning squad in recent seasons, featuring in all 14 Vitality Blast fixtures as the side reached Finals Day, where he claimed 13 wickets. His consistency and versatility have seen him play a valuable role in limited-overs cricket.

Across 57 appearances for the Red Rose in all formats, Blatherwick has taken 72 wickets and has also made notable contributions with the bat and in the field, underlining his all-round value to the squad.

Speaking after signing his new deal, Jack Blatherwick said: “I’m really happy to extend my time with Lancashire for another two seasons.

“Joining this Club has been hugely positive for my development as a player, and I’m excited to keep pushing myself and contributing to the team in the years ahead.

“I’ve really enjoyed having a more regular role in the T20 side over the last couple of seasons, with a massive focus of mine becoming more consistent in red ball and earning my spot as an all-format player. Winning a trophy here at Lancashire is a big ambition of mine going forward.”

Head Coach Steven Croft added: “Jack has grown significantly into his role within the squad over the past few seasons, and it’s been excellent to see the progress that he’s made.

“He’s worked extremely hard on all aspects of his game, and his ability to perform an important role with the ball in limited-overs cricket makes him a key part of our plans moving forward.

“He also continues to improve in red ball cricket and adds valuable depth to our seam-bowling options in the County Championship, combined with his all-round batting and fielding abilities. We’re pleased that he’ll remain with us for the next couple of years.”
