Lancashire Cricket to host Club’s first-ever Pride Fixture

Pride Day - celebrating inclusion in cricket

Ahead of the start of World Pride Month in June, Lancashire Cricket is pleased to announce that the Vitality Blast double header at Emirates Old Trafford on Saturday 31 May will be the Club’s first-ever Pride Fixture.

As Lancashire Thunder take on The Blaze (midday), followed by Lancashire Lightning against Notts Outlaws (4pm), Lancashire Cricket will celebrate and encourage LGBTQ+ inclusion, uniting our fans and showing that cricket is a game for everyone.

Lancashire Cricket’s Pride Fixture is being held in collaboration with Gaydio – a Manchester based radio station who were the UKs first FM radio service to serve the LGBTQ+ community.

On the day, Gaydio will be providing DJs to entertain at Emirates Old Trafford’s renowned Fan Village in addition to pride themed entertainment, face painting areas and more.

Tickets are available for the Pride Fixture T20 double header at Emirates Old Trafford on Saturday 31 May and can be purchased by clicking here.

Helen Davies, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead for Lancashire Cricket, said: “We are incredibly excited to be hosting our first-ever Pride Fixture at Emirates Old Trafford this summer as the Club celebrates and shows support for our LGBTQ+ community across the region.

“Cricket is a game for everyone and want to demonstrate that Emirates Old Trafford is a destination where everybody is accepted and made to feel welcome.

“This event will mark another step on our EDI journey as a Club and we are looking forward to everything that we have planned for our supporters on the day.”

Tickets are available at early bird prices for just £23 adults and £5 for under 18s.
