Lancashire Men name 15-man squad to face Northants

Read the latest squad news ahead of facing Northamptonshire at Emirates Old Trafford

Men's Head Coach Dale Benkenstein has named a 15-man squad for Lancashire's Rothesay County Championship match against Northamptonshire at Emirates Old Trafford, which starts on Friday morning.

West Indies fast bowler Anderson Phillip arrived in the UK on Wednesday and is in contention to make the XI, while fellow paceman John Turner is included in the matchday squad after the Club announced his short-term loan signing from Hampshire earlier today.

Left-arm spin bowler Tom Hartley also returns to the squad after recovering from a broken hand which he sustained during England Lions tour of Australia in January.

Lancashire started the 2025 season with a draw against Middlesex at Lord's while opposition Northants were beaten on the road at Kent. Read the match preview, by clicking here.

Squad to face Northamptonshire:

Keaton Jennings (c), Tom Aspinwall, Tom Bailey, George Balderson, George Bell, Josh Bohannon, Marcus Harris, Tom Hartley, Matty Hurst, Michael Jones, Anderson Phillip, Ollie Sutton, John Turner, Luke Wells, Will Williams

Rothesay County Championship - player availability update:

Saqib Mahmood is available for the Rothesay County Championship, and has options included in his new contract for red ball cricket with Lancashire. He is currently building up his workloads ahead of a return to four-day action.

Due to white ball commitments, including the upcoming Pakistan Super League, Luke Wood is highly unlikely to be available for selection in this season’s Rothesay County Championship. Wood will be available for Lancashire Lightning for the full duration of the Vitality Blast.

England centrally contracted players Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone and Phil Salt are unlikely to feature for Lancashire in the Rothesay County Championship this season, due to a combination of the Indian Premier League and England white-ball commitments throughout the summer.

All other contracted squad members remain available for selection for Lancashire in the Rothesay County Championship.

How to follow:

The match will be broadcast live and exclusive on LancsTV, with ball-by-ball radio commentary from Emirates Old Trafford provided by BBC Radio Lancashire's Scott Read on the BBC Sport website and app.

For those unable to follow the action live, there will be regular updates on the Club's social media channels and Match Centre, with highlights also posted on LancsTV.
