Two late wickets for Zaman Akhter took a bit of a shine off at the end, Matty Hurst edging behind for 78 and Saqib Mahmood yorked for 4 that has been Lancashire's best day of the season thus far.

Eight overs to go with Marcus Harris and Matty Hurst exercising a bit of caution as Ajeet Singh Dale and Tom Price hunt for a breakthrough with the new ball.

The 100 partnership between Marcus Harris and Matty Hurst has arrived off 163 balls with both batters having hit sixes in recent overs.

Hurst top edged a pull over fine leg off Tom Price while Harris has hammered Ollie Price into the members seats in front of the pavilion.

Harris also has reached 500 runs for the season.

A good session for Lancashire and Marcus Harris who looks in complete control out there. The partnership between Harris and Matty Hurst is building nicely and is now worth 68 runs.

Fifty to Marcus Harris who becomes the first Lancashire player to score five fifties in his first 7 innings for the club. His 50 came from 106 balls. What a great start to the season he his having!

We are twenty minutes into the afternoon session where Josh Bohannon and Marcus Harris have made a steady start after lunch. Harris has just punched a lovely back foot drive wide of point for four off Ben Charlesworth.

Josh Bohannon, incidentally is the 7th fastest to reach 5,000 runs for Lancashire in terms of innings behind: Stuart Law 98, John Crawley 103, Keaton Jennings 109, Ashwell Prince 112, Mal Loye 112, Mike Atherton 115 (Bohannon 120*).

Lancashire have made a good recovery thanks to this 56-run partnership between Josh Bohannon and Marcus Harris after those two early wickets by Ajeet Singh Dale who has been the pick of the visitors attack.

Josh Bohannon and Marcus Harris have weathered the early storm and are now moving along rapidly with a succession of boundaries bringing 30 runs from the last five overs.

Their 50 partnership has arrived from 76 balls and Bohannon has now reached 5,000 first-class runs for Lancashire.

Ajeet Singh Dale has completed a fine 5 over spell of 2-12 and is replaced by Zaman Akhter.

This is a very good spell by Ajeet Singh Dale who beats Marcus Harris a couple of times but Harris responds with a nicely flicked on drive for four.  Josh Shaw is back into the Glos attack.

Ajeet Singh Dale gets reward for a good over, beating Keaton Jennings' outside edge a couple of deliveries ago but his fourth ball does find an edge that flies to Cameron Bancroft at second slip.

That is a very unfortunate way to get out! George Bell on 10 defends Ajeet Singh Dale's second delivery and the ball spins back down off the batters' body with Bell then accidentally kicking it onto his stumps.

George Bell gets the first boundary of the day with a nice leg glance off Josh Shaw to fine leg. 

There are 1,500 or so school children in attendance today currently chanting "hit the ball repeatedly." They enjoyed that shot.

Play under way with Josh Shaw bowling a maiden to George Bell who is into the side for his first senior outing of the season. Tom Price is sharing the new ball.
