The players shake hands to end an enthralling day at Stanley Park.

6.02pm - Remaining overs: 6
Kent 2nd inns 316-8 lead by 51 runs, Evison 72 Agar 14
Wes Agar thumps another four and the end of another over. Lancs will only have 3 overs to bat even if they take 2 wickets in the next over.

5.58pm - Remaining overs: 7
Kent 2nd inns 312-8 lead by 47 runs, Evison 72 Agar 10
There nearly was drama in the last over from Chris Green with Agar inside edging on to his pads but the ball falling safely behind the ring of close in fielders.

5.55pm - Remaining overs: 8
Kent 2nd inns 310-8 lead by 45 runs, Evison 72 Agar 9
Another over ticks by and you feel unless something dramatic happens this game is nearly done.

5.48pm - Remaining overs: 9
Kent 2nd inns 308-8 lead by 43 runs, Evison 71 Agar 7
Was that the chance? Wes Agar gets off the mark with a six off Chris Green but then gets a high leading edge that falls inches away from a diving Mitch Stanley.

5.45pm - Remaining overs: 10
Kent 2nd inns 300-8 lead by 35 runs, Evison 70 Agar 0.
If Lancashire do take these final two wickets, two overs will be deducted due to the change of innings.

5.33pm - WICKET - Remaining overs: 12.4
Kent 2nd inns 298-8 lead by 33 runs, Evison 68 Agar 0.
Grant Stewart's great innings is ended on 130 after he drives James Anderson to Tom Bailey at cover who takes the catch over his head at the second attempt.

That ends a partnership of 182 runs.

5.19pm - Remaining overs: 16 (Final Hour)
Kent 2nd inns 291-7 lead by 26 runs, Evison 64 Stewart 127.
The new ball is taken by Lancashire with Chris Green continuing from the South End, and this will be the last throw of the dice if there is to be a result in this match.

5.05pm - Remaining overs: 20
Kent 2nd inns 273-7 lead by 8 runs, Evison 64 Stewart 115.
Kent go into the lead with Grant Stewart continuing to attack as the draw is becoming every more likely. The new ball is 4 overs away.

4.55pm - Remaining overs: 23
Kent 2nd inns 259-7 trail by 6 runs, Evison 59 Stewart 100.
Grant Stewart drives Chris Green for four to go to what is an outstanding century off just 79 balls with 8 sixes & 9 fours.

That boundary means this a record 8th wicket partnership for Kent v Lancs beating the 139 by Ben Compton & Hamidullah Qadri at Canterbury in 2022.

4.40pm - Remaining overs: 27
Kent 2nd inns 237-7 trail by 28 runs, Evison 56 Stewart 81.
Grant Stewart hammers his 8th six to take Kent ever closer to making Lancashire to at least have to bat again even if they take these last three wickets.

4.25pm - Remaining overs: 31
Kent 2nd inns 215-7 trail by 50 runs, Evison 51 Stewart 69.
Joey Evison has reached his fifty from 100 balls while Grant Stewart keeps attacking, now hitting Mitch Stanley for six over long-off and bringing up the 100 partnership off 116 balls.

Kent need 50 more to make Lancashire bat again.

4.08pm - Remaining overs: 34
Kent 2nd inns 204-7 trail by 61 runs, Evison 47 Stewart 60.
This has been a great counter attacking knock by Grant Stewart who has hit Mitch Stanley for three consecutive sixes over midwicket to reach his fifty off 42 balls.

3.40pm TEA DAY 4
Kent 2nd inns 185-7 trail by 80 runs, Evison 47 Stewart 41.
Close call for Grant Stewart who hits Tom Bailey to deep midwicket where Micael Jones makes a great effort to catch the ball but can't prevent it going for six.

There are a minimum of 36 overs to be bowled after tea.

3.25pm
Kent 2nd inns 158-7 trail by 107 runs, Evison 43 Stewart 20.
Luke Wells takes over from Tom Bailey but Chris Green continues, now into his 24th over.

3.10pm
Kent 2nd inns 137-7 trail by 128 runs, Evison 32 Stewart 10.
We are 30 minutes away from tea but still with at least 45 overs left in the match.
Chris Green has now bowled 22 overs in this spell of 4-47 while Tom Bailey continues with his leg spin at the other end.

2.51pm WICKET
Kent 2nd inns 116-7 trail by 149 runs, Evison 27 Stewart 0.
Keaton Jennings and Tom Bailey can do no wrong!
Harry Finch turns Bailey to leg where Jennings takes a superb one handed catch at short leg. Two wickets with his off spin in the over for Bailey!

2.49pm WICKET
Kent 2nd inns 116-6 trail by 149 runs, Evison 27 Finch 0.
Tom Bailey is into his second over bowling off spin and he has bowled Jaydn Denly for 55!

2.17pm
Kent 2nd inns 90-5 trail by 174 runs, Denly 53 Evison 6.
No hat trick for Chris Green but he has six fielders in catching position around the batsmen.
Amid all that mayhem Jaydn Denly has reached his maiden first-class half century and he has become the main man now in Kent's efforts to salvage a draw.

2.05pm WICKET
Kent 2nd inns 84-5 trail by 181 runs, Denly 52 Evison 0.
Jack Leaning goes lbw first ball to Chris Green! Sensational start to the afternoon.

2.02pm WICKET
Kent 2nd inns 84-4 trail by 181 runs, Denly 52 Leaning 0.
Tawanda Muyeye turns Chris Green into the hands of Keaton Jennings who takes a great catch low down at short leg for 3.

1.46pm WICKET
Kent 2nd inns 75-3 trail by 190 runs, Denly 49 Muyeye 0.
Chris Green has a second wicket in his first over after lunch!
Daniel Bell-Drummond turns his fourth delivery to Keaton Jennings who makes a great one handed grab at bat/pad.
That ends a partnership of 64 and is an excellent start to the afternoon for Lancashire.

1.05pm LUNCH Day 4
Kent 2nd inns 74-2 trail by 191 runs, Denly 48 Bell-Drummond 13.
After the early excitement of those two wickets, Jaydn Denly and Daniel Bell-Drummond have defended stoutly with Denly's leading edge off Chris Green the nearest we have come to seeing a third wicket.

Denly received a nasty looking blow on the elbow off Mitch Stanley in the last over before the break but after treatment carried on.

12.43pm
Kent 2nd inns 55-2 trail by 210 runs, Denly 32 Bell-Drummond 11.
Jaydn Denly gets away with a miscue when his leading edge off Chris Green loops up towards deep mid-off where George Balderson races in and dives but can't get to the pitch of the ball - but that was close.

12.24pm
Kent 2nd inns 48-2 trail by 217 runs, Denly 26 Bell-Drummond 10.
Jaydn Denly reverse swept Chris Green twice for four in his last over. I don't think Lancashire will mind that too much, hoping he miscues any further attempt and offers a chance.

12.09pm
Kent 2nd inns 34-2 trail by 231 runs, Denly 16 Bell-Drummond 6.
Tom Bailey's excellent opening spell ends with figures of 7-4-14-1 and he's been replaced by George Balderson. Matty Hurst applying pressure by standing up to both Bailey and Balderson.

11.56am
Kent 2nd inns 20-2 trail by 245 runs, Denly 10 Bell-Drummond 0.
Close call for Jaydn Denly who edges Chris Green with the ball bouncing just in front of slip.

11.48am
Kent 2nd inns 19-2 trail by 246 runs, Denly 9 Bell-Drummond 0.
Lancashire are surrounding Daniel Bell-Drummond for Chris Green and thought they had him caught in the previous over but not given. Good pressure being applied.

11.38am WICKET
Kent 2nd inns 11-2 trail by 254 runs, Denly 1 Bell-Drummond 0.
Chris Green strikes in his first over as Matt Parkinson turns his fourth delivery into the hands of Josh Bohannon at leg slip for a 26-ball 4.

11.22am WICKET
Kent 2nd inns 9-1 trail by 256 runs, Parkinson 3 Denly 0.
Tom Bailey makes the early breakthrough having first innings century maker Ben Compton lbw for 6.

11.19am
Kent 2nd inns 9-0 trail by 256 runs, Compton 6 Parkinson 3.
Ben Compton has a lucky escape after inside edging just past his stumps off James Anderson for four.

11.04am
Kent 2nd inns 0-0 trail by 265 runs, Compton 0 Parkinson 0.
James Anderson bowls the opening over of the day from the North End to Ben Compton and it is a maiden.
Tom Bailey has the second over and will be bowling to Matt Parkinson, opening for the first time.

10.45am
Lancashire have declared on their overnight score of 639-9.

9.00am
There  are dry and bright conditions at Stanley Park for this final day of our Rothesay County Championship match against Kent.

We await news on any possible overnight declaration from temporary skipper James Anderson with Lancashire on 639-9 - our record total at Blackpool incidentally - leading by 265 runs.

Play looks set to start on time at 11am with lunch back to its normal time of 1pm and tea at 3.40pm regardless of how many overs remain.
