The players shake hands on the draw. Lancashire 11 points, Leicestershire 15.

The floodlights come on but I can't see this game lasting much longer.

Josh Bohannon gets a bottom edge four off Louis Kimber. It is getting gloomy out in the middle.

Louis Kimber joins the attack so we now have spin from both ends. No sign of Tom Scriven who took five wickets in the first innings.

Rehan Ahmed's first over proved to be uneventful, Josh Bohannon drove an attempted yorker from Logan van Beek for four in the next.

The final hour now starts at 5.02pm.
Leicestershire are bringing on Rehan Ahmed to bowl for the first time in this match.

Ben Cox is standing up to Ian Holland and it looks like that's another drop off an edge by Josh Bohannon.

Another nice square dive by Marcus Harris brings four more off Logan van Beek.

A couple of fours to the vacant third man boundary for Marcus Harris in that over.

Josh Bohannon is dropped off Ian Holland by wicketkeeper Ben Cox diving away to his right. Got his glove to it but the ball bounced out.

Marcus Harris drives Holland for four but the bowler whistles a fast leg break past the batters outside edge in reply.

The players are ready and Ian Holland is bowling the opening over to Marcus Harris.

The sun continues to shine and the groundstaff have removed the covers and continue to mop up around the outfield following steady rain throughout most of the day. 

We remain set for a 4.30pm restart with a minimum of 24 overs to be bowled.

Providing there is no further rain, tea will be taken at 3.40pm with play to start at 4.30pm with a minimum of 24 overs to be bowled.

Finally, better news on the conditions. It has stopped raining, the sun is shining and the groundstaff are now mopping up and removing the covers.

Once we have some news regarding any possible start we will post an update.

There has been no change to the weather conditions since the last update at 1pm. The covers remain in place and it is still raining.

The lunch interval has arrived but there has been no change in the weather as it continues to rain.

There has been no change whatsoever in the conditions this morning as rain continues to fall.

The scheduled splay has arrived but with rain still falling there appears to be little prospect of play at the moment.

There has been no change in the conditions since the 9am update, with rain continuing to fall steadily and no prospect of play at present.

It is raining at Emirates Old Trafford ahead of the fourth day of our Rothesay County Championship match against Leicestershire with the covers in place as our photograph shows.

The game situation is that Lancashire, in their second innings, are 16-3 and need a further 212 runs to avoid an innings defeat.
