Lancashire v Middlesex, Day One - Play Abandoned

2.30pm PLAY ABANDONED FOR TODAY

Following further rain, the umpires have abandoned play for today.

We will return tomorrow morning and hope for better conditions.

1.45pm INSPECTION 2.30pm
The umpires have made a lengthy inspection of the outfield and will return for another look at 2.30pm.

Since the inspection it has started to rain once more.

12.45am DELAYED START - INSPECTION 1.30pm
Heavy showersand the continuing high winds - preventing the covers being removed - have delayed the umpires inspection which will now be at 1.30pm.

11.30am DELAYED START - UMPIRES TO INSPECT
Further rain and high winds mean there is little prospect of a start at present. The umpires will make a further inspection at 12.30pm.

10.30am DELAYED START
It has started to rain steadily once more in the last few minutes.

10.00am DELAYED START
There has been no change to the conditions since the earlier update, but it remains cloudy and quite gloomy.

The covers remain in place while the groundstaff continue to mop up the outfield which is quite wet following earlier rain, and there is further rain forecast to arrive.

The toss has been delayed and clearly we will not be starting on time.

9.00am
Good morning from Emirates Old Trafford ahead of the start of our final home match in the 2025 season.

The weather is cloudy and the conditions damp following rain earlier. Currently it is dry but the covers remain in place while the groundstaff mop up the outfield.
