5.43pm BAD LIGHT STOPS PLAY
Lancashire 1st inns 105-0 (25 overs) Wells 60 Jennings 36 trail by 106 runs.
Play has stopped for bad light with nine overs left. The umpires are out in the middle taking a reading but given the amount of clouds around Emirates Old Trafford at present I think it's unlikely we will see any more action today.

Lancashire 1st inns 100-0 (22nd over) Wells 50 Jennings 34 trail by 118 runs.
Luke Wells advances down the wicket to hammer Zafar Gohar's second delivery for a straight six before driving a single to deep cover to bring up the 100 partnership.

4.20pm TEA Day 3
Lancashire 1st inns 44-0 (11 overs) Wells 17 Jennings 21 trail by 167 runs.
Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings have made a positive start in tricky conditions to the Lancashire reply with the Middlesex seamers probably feeling a touch unlucky not have picked up a wicket after beating the bat several times.
4.10pm
Lancashire 1st inns 26-0 (8th over) Wells 15 Jennings 9 trail by 185 runs.
Luke Wells top edges a pull off Toby Roland-Jones that just drops over the midwicket boundary for six. Wells then square drives a lovely four off TR-J.
Meanwhile a good battle is developing between Keaton Jennings and Ryan Higgins who doesn't seem to appreciate Jennings walking down the wicket as he bowls. Wicketkeeper Joe Cracknell is now standing up to prevent that.
3.55pm
Lancashire 1st inns 8-0 (4 overs) Wells 2 Jennings 4 trail by 203 runs.
Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings are not finding it easy as they negotiate these opening overs but Jennings hits a sweetly timed on-drive off his toes for the first boundary of the innings.
3.47pm
Lancashire 1st inns 2-0 (3rd over) Wells 0 Jennings 0 trail by 209 runs.
No runs off the bat so far, just the two for a no ball bowled by Ryan Higgins who is sharing the new ball with Toby Roland-Jones.

No better news since the 9.30am update with conditions worsening as the rain continues to fall.
Pools of water have now formed on the outfield during the last sixty minutes.
9.30am
We have a very wet morning at Emirates Old Trafford ahead of the third day of our Rothesay County Championship match against Middlesex.
There is no prospect of play in the immediate future with the covers firmly in place as the rain continues to fall.
In the meantime, our match report from an eventful 44 overs of play yesterday can be found on the red button below.
