David Lloyd takes a stunning diving reflex catch off his own bowling to dismiss Tom Hartley for 2.

Josh Bohannon goes on the attack, down the wicket to Jack Morley but skies a catch to Zak Chappell running back from mid-on, a well-judged catch too.

Ben Aitchison hammers a 4 and two sixes off one over from Luke Wells to take Derbyshire to within 5 runs of avoiding the follow-on.

But James Anderson has Zak Chappell caught at short leg for 24 fending off a short ball.

James Anderson returns to the attack but hit for two fours by Ben Aitchison that brings up the 50 partnership off 106 balls.

Zak Chappell and Ben Aitchison continue to frustrate Lancashire with a partnership now worth 41 runs from 82 balls.

Lancashire took the new ball as soon as it became available with Marcus Harris handing it to George Balderson and Tom Bailey.

Brooke Guest goes for 77 and that's a big wicket for the part-time off spin of Josh Bohannon who can't hide his delight at claiming his 14th first-class wicket. 

Bohannon threw one up and drew Guest into an expansive shot with the batter inside edging onto his stumps.

It's Bohannon's first wicket since May 2021.

An anxious moment for Brooke Guest who hooks a bouncer from Anderson Phillip that just creeps over the head of Tom Bailey at fine leg for six.

Tom Hartley and Anderson Phillip take the ball after lunch and they combine for the first wicket of the afternoon.

Anuj Dal hangs his head after playing a pretty poor cut shot off Hartley that dollies up to Phillip at gully for 19. A bit of extra bounce there from Hartley that may have deceived the batter.

A morning that was going completely Derbyshire's way during that 76-run partnership between Brooke Guest, who is 52 not out at lunch, and Jack Morley with a career-best 41 got a sudden jolt when George Balderson struck twice twenty minutes before the break.

Brooke Guest goes to his fifty from 114 balls but Anuj Dal nearly gives a chance, clipping Luke Wells to leg with the ball rebounding up off George Bell at short leg but with Bell unable to catch it off the rebound.

George Balderson finally makes the breakthrough Lancashire needed with Jack Morley departing for a career-best 41 after clipping straight to Keaton Jennings at midwicket.

No breakthrough so far for Lancashire in the first 45 minutes and James Anderson is replaced by Tom Bailey after a five-over spell.

The first bowling change of the day sees Tom Hartley replace Anderson Phillip.

A fairly quite start to the third day so far with 6 runs taken from the first three overs. The one moment of interest is the ball being changed after 16 deliveries this morning.  

It's a double Anderson attack with Jimmy and Anderson Phillip sharing the opening overs.

Derbyshire need another 190 runs to avoid the follow-on.

James Anderson hit the headlines with his wickets helping to reduce Derbyshire to 112-4 yesterday evening with the visitors 346 runs behind Lancashire at the close of play.

Former Lancashire players Brooke Guest and Jack Morley will resume the Derbyshire innings on 14 and 4 respectively.
