Mitch Stanley signs contract extension with Lancashire

Lancashire Cricket is delighted to announce that fast bowler Mitch Stanley has signed a contract extension with the Club until the end of the 2026 season.

Since joining from Worcestershire CCC ahead of the 2024 season, Stanley has made seven appearances for Lancashire in the Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One-Day Cup.

The 24-year-old has also spent time with England Lions during their recent tours to South Africa and Australia, playing two red ball tour matches in Cape Town and Brisbane.

He is a bowler with express pace and spent two seasons at New Road in 2022 and 2023, having joined Worcestershire from National Counties cricket with his home side, Shropshire.

In 16 career T20 appearances, Stanley – who has also played for Manchester Originals in The Hundred and Delhi Bulls at the Abu Dhabi T10 – has taken 13 wickets at an average of 30.

Director of Cricket Performance Mark Chilton said: “Mitch joined us ahead of last season as a developing fast bowler, and we have been really pleased by his commitment to training and physical development throughout his time with us so far – and this contract extension reflects that progression.

“So far this summer, Mitch has played more red ball cricket than ever before in our Second XI, as he looks to build up his workloads and durability as a fast bowler, with his abilities impressing both ourselves and England Lions - who also recognise his potential.

“As a Club we are excited about where Mitch can go, and we look forward to seeing him get out on the field more to play cricket throughout the next season and a half at Emirates Old Trafford.”
