Open Letter – Gill Singh
An open letter from newly elected Board Member, Gill Singh.
Dear Members,
I’d like to start by personally thanking all of you that took the time to vote for me to join the Board at the AGM earlier this year. I am so excited to start this position and marry my experience as a Board Director with my passion for all formats of Cricket.
I have been a proud Lancashire Cricket Club member for a number of years and regularly attend games in County Championship, Vitality Blast and The Hundred alongside my husband. I am passionate about many different sports, regularly playing both golf and padel whilst I also enjoy watching live tennis and rugby.
I have been a FTSE Marketing and Digital board leader for the last twenty years across a diverse range of sectors including Retail, Finance, Public Transport and Social Housing. These have been with complex, highly regulated billion-pound organisations such as Arriva Group, Go-Ahead group, Experian and Studio Retail. As such I can bring a dynamic combination of strategic oversight, business wide transformation, customer experience / engagement and communication to the sports and entertainment sector.
I am extremely focussed about building upon and improving customer or in our case fan experience and engagement. I have led major companywide initiatives to transform customer journeys, improve digital interactions through use of omni channel engagement and deliver improved communication strategies. All of this with a clear focus on driving loyalty and advocacy and ensuring fans feel listened to and valued.
For the last six years I have been a Non-Executive Director within the charity sector and as such have developed a deep understanding of corporate governance and compliance, risk management and health and safety - skills which will be directly transferable to safeguarding both our staff and fans.
So again, many thanks for helping me secure this role on the Club’s Board. I look forward to being a ‘critical friend’ on matters of fan engagement, safety and innovation and hope to contribute some fresh external perspectives and insights whilst preserving the heritage of our amazing sport.
Kindest Regards,
Gill
