SECOND XI REPORT: Walker and Parkinson take four wickets apiece to put Lancs on top against Gloucs
Tom Walker and Charlie Parkinson led a great effort as Lancashire’s bowlers dominated on a rain-hit second day at Blackpool with Gloucestershire on 104-9 at the close still trailing by 224 runs.
In the 31.5 overs that were possible, Walker (4-13) and Parkinson (4-29) quickly added to the wickets they had taken the previous evening when Gloucestershire resumed their first innings on 39-3.
Without addition to the score, Tommy Boorman edged a cut off Walker to George Harris at first slip and three runs later Walker trapped Daaryoush Ahmed lbw.
Ahmed Syed edged another cut shot to wicketkeeper George Bell, this one off Luke Hands, for 14 with Gloucestershire 91-6 at lunch and the visitors lost three more wickets during the four overs possible after the break following a 55-minute rain delay.
Parkinson took two wickets in the first over with Jamie Dunk (19) fencing outside off stump at the first ball to give Bell another catch before Hishaam Khan was lbw two balls later.
In the following over Walker had Aman Rao nicely taken by a diving Bell and the visitors had added ten runs before rain ended play for the day with Jonny Bushnell unbeaten on 27 alongside Alfie Johnson (1 not out).
