Player Profile
Arav Shetty is a homegrown all-rounder who debuted for Lancashire’s first-team across all three formats during the second half of 2025.
Shetty, a Mancunian product of the (SACA) South Asian Cricket Academy, went on to earn a professional contract at Emirates Old Trafford at the start of 2026.
He is an off-spin bowler and a middle order batter.
Shetty, aged 21, played age-group cricket for Lancashire. His first recorded appearance came for the Under 14s back in 2018 and went on to play for the club’s much-vaunted Academy.
A Manchester Grammar School graduate, where he no doubt worked with former Lancashire captain and coach Mike Watkinson - a similar style cricketer, Shetty was part of the SACA programme between 2023 and 2025.
Playing against a host of county second XIs, Shetty impressed with bat and ball and gained increasing opportunities with the Red Rose twos.
He also played second-team cricket for Northamptonshire, Worcestershire and Yorkshire in 2023 and 2024.
Shetty scored second-team hundreds for SACA and Lancashire in early 2025, alongside two more for Alderley Edge in the Cheshire County Premier League competition. The right-hander previously played club cricket for Grappenhall.
A spinner who is very hard to read, he has taken five and six-wicket hauls in league cricket for those aforementioned clubs.
He is also a versatile batter, having opened and batted in the top and middle order throughout his career.
Shetty played seven Metro Bank One-Day Cup matches in 2025 with bests of 40 and 3-34. He went on to make his T20 debut against Somerset at Vitality Blast Finals Day and then featured in the Rothesay County Championship against Middlesex a few days later.
In summer 2022, he also played for an England Young Lions Invitational XI against the touring Sri Lankan Under 19s at Loughborough.
