Talk about starting ‘em young. Red Rose batter Harry Singh is only 21, but he has been playing this great game for years.
Upon signing his first professional contract with Lancashire, in March 2023, the Blackburn-born up and comer revealed that he first picked up a bat at the age of four.
He has since progressed through the county’s age-groups and Academy to play second-team cricket and for the England Under 19s - and he made his first-team debut for Lancashire in 2024.
Singh played seven matches in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, with a best of 25, and hit a best of 31 in the second innings of his debut in the County Championship. That was a mid-September home win against Somerset at Emirates Old Trafford.
The right-hander both opened the batting and came in down the order during his run of 50-over appearances, and he opened during his two Championship appearances against Somerset and Worcestershire at the end of the season.
In 2025, Singh played another seven One-Day Cup matches and hit an excellent best of 74 in a high-scoring one-wicket defeat at Sussex.
He batted at five in that game, and it represented his career best score in first-team cricket to date.
In 2023, Singh had played for the Red Rose first team in the One-Day Cup warm-up clash with Cumbria at Sedbergh.
In May 2025, he played for Cumbria against Northumberland in a National Counties (one-day) trophy match and amassed 114. Less than a week later, he hit a fabulous 154 in a second-team red-ball friendly against Yorkshire at Crosby.
While Singh is a batter by trade, one who has toured Australia with the England Under 19s, he is also a very handy off-spinner.
In a 2025 One-Day Cup game against Middlesex at Emirates Old Trafford, he returned an eye-catching 4-27 from 10 overs.
In the summer of 2022, in an U19s Test Match draw against Sri Lanka at Derby, he hit a fine 104 in the first innings. He matched that score in an early season second-team Championship win over Glamorgan at Crosby in 2023.
He scored five second-team fifties in 2024 and played for Cumbria in both the National Counties Trophy and T20 competitions.
Educated at Clitheroe Grammar School, he plays his club cricket for Flixton.
Harry is the son of former India international Rudra, who previously worked with the old Lancashire Cricket Board. His sister Anjalie is also a former Red Rose women’s player.
Harry made his Lancashire second-team debut in August 2020.
In June 2022, he amassed a patient 150 in a four-day second-team Championship draw against Derbyshire at Sale.
He played both Under 19s Tests against Australia at Brisbane in late January and early February 2023 - a 1-0 defeat - and hit a first-innings 67 in the opener.
