The AO Farington Cricket Ground is a modern, dual-purpose cricket facility combining professional-level infrastructure with community access. It will host professional men’s and women’s cricket, but also be a home for local cricket clubs, youth, and recreational players. The plan emphasises sustainability, long-term community engagement, and inclusivity, with new pitches, a pavilion, practice areas, and an indoor dome.

Pre-Visit Information

How can I book tickets for matches at AO Farington Cricket Ground?

Farington fixtures will be ticketed in line with our outground venues. 

Following on from an initial test event on the 8 July 2026, tickets for the next four matches at Farington Cricket Ground will be available to book for 2026 Lancashire Members at 10am on Wednesday 15 July - before going on general sale at 10am on Wednesday 22 July. 

All Members need to claim tickets as per other outground matches. Members' tickets will be loaded onto membership cards.

General admission tickets are available for £20 (terrace), £15 (general admission) for Adults, £12 for Over 65 and £5 for Under 18s. Purchased tickets will be delivered via the Lancashire Cricket Tickets app.


Travel and Parking

Can I walk to the facility?

Yes, we have two dedicated pedestrian entry/exit points accessible from Stanifield Lane. For safety reasons, we politely ask they no one attempts to enter the facility by walking down the main access road. Please stick to the dedicated pedestrian walk ways.

Where is the nearest train station?

Rail links to AO Farington Cricket Ground are good and the nearest train stations are: 

Lostock Hall which is a 11 - 15 minute walk away, and Leyland which is a 35 minute walk away or a short bus journey.

Members and spectators are encouraged to plan their journey in advance.

Will there be parking available at the venue?

There is a limited amount of parking available on-site, as well as temporary overflow parking.

Parking at Farington Cricket Ground will be free of charge.

Supporters wishing to travel by car can find additional parking options via YourParkingSpace.

Will there be accessible parking?

Yes, there are a limited number of accessible parking spaces available located within the main car park. These will be available on a pre-booking basis only. Further details will be available nearer to the match.

Are there any bicycle racks?

Yes, there are several racks available for bicycle parking, located between the two ovals, on the approach to the Pavilion.

Will shuttle buses be available?

There are currently no plans for a shuttle service but public transport bus links are good and run regularly to AO Farington Cricket Ground. 

The 111 service running from Leyland stops on the doorstep of AO Farington Cricket Ground.


Venue and Facilities

How many fixed seats will be available?

The professional oval at AO Farington Cricket Ground offers approximately 700 fixed seats.

Members and spectators are welcome to take pop-up chairs and picnic blankets for use around the upper levels of the banking around the oval.

Will any seating areas be undercover?

Grandstand seating will not be undercover. 

What toilet facilities will be available?

The pavilion will include:

  • An accessible toilet with Changing Places style equipment
  • Separate male and female toilets

For larger fixtures, additional temporary toilets will be available.

Will there be any baby changing facilities available?

Yes, baby changing facilities will be available within the Pavilion building.

Will the venue include facilities such as a sensory room, prayer room, or nursing room?

These facilities are not included in the current venue plans. While we unfortunately do not have dedicated rooms for these activities, if you require a space, such as a faith room or a private area for nursing, our team will do its best to support you and help find a suitable location.

Is the venue fully accessible?

The venue will be built in line with current Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) regulations. While we aim for accessibility, there may be some areas with limited access.

Will there be retail options at the venue?

There are no plans for any permanent shops; however, retail items may be available for purchase via the café, bar or pop-up retail outlet.

Are there any exclusive areas for Members, including 1864 Members?

Spaces within the pavilion will be allocated on a fixture-by-fixture basis. Whilst Member access is a priority, space segregation may not possible. Final arrangements will be communicated in the Matchday guide for each fixture.


Food and Beverage

What food and drink options will be available?

A café and bar service is planned, offering a casual menu. Final arrangements will be communicated in the Matchday guide for each fixture.

Will Members receive their usual discounts at AO Farington Cricket Ground?

Members will receive a 10% discount at the pavilion bar.


Cricket at AO Farington Cricket Ground

What levels of cricket will be played at AO Farington Cricket Ground?

The venue will host performance cricket ranging from our First Teams to Under-13s, including community use and disability cricket.

Will matches at AO Farington Cricket Ground be streamed on LancsTV?

Yes, all First Team matches (Men’s and Women’s) played at the ground will be streamed on LancsTV, consistent with our approach at outgrounds.


Other Information

What are the ground regulations, particularly regarding bags?

Farington will follow the same ground regulations as our outgrounds.

  • Bag size and number restrictions will be relaxed due to the limited fixed seating.
  • All bags will be subject to search and tagging.
  • Stewards will address any unattended items. Spectators are reminded not to leave bags unattended.
  • Food and non-alcoholic drinks may be brought into the facility; however, only food and beverages purchased within the Pavilion may be consumed inside the Pavilion.

Can I bring my dog?

Only Service / Guide dogs will be permitted at the facility.

Will there be public WiFi?

Yes, public WiFi is available within the Pavilion building.
