Player Profile
To make a senior county debut in your home town would surely be a bit of ‘pinch me’ moment for any player. Well, that’s exactly what happened to classy batter Danielle Collins not far off 11 years ago now.
In September 2015, Collins, then aged 15, played for Lancashire in a 20-over friendly against the Army at Bury, opening the batting and scoring 46 not out - the highest score of the match. Unfortunately it didn’t lead to a victory.
Fast forward a little over a decade later and she could celebrate playing her part for Lancashire’s professional side in their 2025 double triumph. She played in both the Vitality T20 County Cup and the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, though she did miss both finals.
In the last year or so, Collins has also emerged as a useful option with the ball, bowling skilful medium pacers.
At the start of 2022, she helped Lancashire win the regionalised County T20 Cup title (non-professional era). They beat Yorkshire at Northern CC.
The 25-year-old has also played county cricket for Cumbria.
Collins played Under 15s and 17s cricket for Lancashire and has played women’s club cricket for Bolton side Astley Bridge and Bury side Tottington St John’s.
She has played 95 senior career matches across both List A and T20 cricket.
In 2025, Collins hit a pair of friendly centuries, one for Lancashire against Durham. The other had come in an intra-squad friendly.
In 2015, for the Lancashire Under 15s Development side, Collins hit 96 opening the batting in a 40-over win over Northumberland at Longhirst.
Now aged 25, Collins signed her maiden professional contract with the Red Rose midway through 2023.
