2023 Memberships - Frequently Asked Questions

2023 Memberships - Frequently Asked Questions

Changes to the Membership

What are the changes?

Following supporter and Members’ research we have reinvigorated our categories to be more inclusive and attract a wider, more diverse, fanbase. We have simplified our Membership tiers and introduced a range of new options to meet the needs of existing members whilst also appealing to new members as we seek to grow and diversify our Membership base. This is part of the Club’s long-term commitment to grow our Membership family to 10,000 by 2030.

Why are they happening?

We are making these changes as part of our plan to increase our overall Membership base and attract new members that are more diverse and reflective of our community. This is a long-term plan and one that we hope will generate more opportunity for the whole Club.

When is it happening?

The new structure will be effective for the 2023 domestic season and Membership will be structured this way from the renewal date in September 2022. On renewal or purchase of a 2023 Membership, International ticket priority and discounts on International tickets become unlocked. All other 2023 Membership benefits are valid from 1 January 2023 – 31 December 2023.

Have prices gone up?

As there are brand new categories, it is difficult to make like-for-like comparisons between 2022 and 2023 Memberships. However, our entry level Membership (Taster) is less than half the price of the cheapest adult Membership in 2022.

The Club feels that the new categories meet the needs of our various members and provide outstanding value to all as we look to grow the Red Rose Family.

1864 Membership prices bear an increase after a special discounted price was put in place for 2022 following the impact of Covid on the previous year. 2023 prices have increased in line with inflation and also account for dining packages now included in 1864 Membership. Full details, including prices of the 1864 Membership can be found here.

Traditional Members who renew onto Prime Membership will also see an increase on the 2022 price, which is again due to discounted price received after the impact of Covid on the previous year. 2023 prices have been brought in line with standard pricing for this category. Full details on Prime Membership can be found here.

What difference does it make to me?

This depends on your current Membership level and the new one you choose to subscribe to. For details on the changes to membership categories, please see here.

Will some new Members be receiving the benefits free of charge?

Yes. The Club will offer non-Members who are in the priority windows for Emirates Old Trafford and who buy an International ticket, the opportunity to join as a ‘Taster’ Member to celebrate the launch of the new scheme.

The hope is that this will encourage them to stay and be active and fully-paying Members from 2024 onwards. However, there will be limited benefits available for Taster Membership which is our entry-level category designed for new and first-time fans to sample a taste of the Membership experience.
