Kirti Sharma appointed onto Nominations Committee at Lancashire Cricket

Lancashire Cricket is delighted to announce that Kirti Sharma has been appointed onto the Club’s Nominations Committee, after Dave Taylor recently stepped down from the role after nine years.

Kirti, who has been a Member at Lancashire Cricket for seven years and has served on the Club’s Members’ Representative Group (MRG) for the past three years, works as a Senior Manager at the Open University.

Following a robust interview process, Kirti was identified as the outstanding candidate due to her experience in recruitment and contractual support at the Open University, an outstanding academic background, a love of Lancashire Cricket and a passion to ensure cricket is a game for everyone.

As part of her role on the MRG, Kirti will continue to have input into the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy as the Club commits to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace for all at Emirates Old Trafford and the wider Lancashire Cricket family involved in the game.

Kirti Sharma said: “I am delighted to have been appointed onto the Club’s Nominations Committee.

“When I joined the MRG I wanted to bring a new, fresh perspective to the Membership and use this time to help the Club increase its reach into the local community and ensure Lancashire Cricket truly represents the wider community it serves.

“It is vital that Members are involved in the selection of the Board to ensure that the Member voice is heard. I am passionate about cricket, but I am also equally as passionate about ensuring there is equity, diversity, and parity amongst the Board as they represent Members at the highest levels.”

Andy Anson, Lancashire Cricket Chair, added: “We are really pleased to welcome Kirti onto our Nominations Committee. I know she will commit herself fully to the role with the best interests of the Club and its Membership at heart.

“The Committee plays an important role in ensuring that the right candidates are put forward and Kirti’s involvement in the Club’s ongoing EDI strategy will help to ensure that our nominations fairly represent the Membership and the community which we serve.

“I would also like to thank Dave Taylor for his time and efforts over the past nine years having been on the Nominations Committee. His contribution has been invaluable.”
