Members’ Forums confirmed for 2024
With the 2024 season fast approaching, Lancashire Cricket is delighted to announce the dates of all four Members’ Forums scheduled to take place throughout the year.
The first Forum of the year will take place on Monday 26 February in the 1864 Suite at Emirates Old Trafford, starting at 6pm. It follows on from Chair Andy Anson’s statement before Christmas, which can be watched here, that provided members with an update following recent discussions between the ECB and all First-Class counties on Lancashire Cricket’s position regarding the future of the Hundred and external investment into the game.
Whilst, at the time of writing, the ECB have not provided First-Class Counties with any formal proposals, the Club is keen to consult with its wider membership and will be happy to answer questions from members on the evening. Chief Executive Daniel Gidney, Senior Independent Director James Sheridan, Board Member Chris Peacock and Director of Cricket Performance Mark Chilton will all be in attendance at the Forum.
The Club will commit to arranging a further Forum as and when the ECB has shared formal proposals with counties.
The second Forum of the year will take place on Sunday 2 June (10:30am start) before the T20 double header at Emirates Old Trafford. Membership categories and voting rights will specifically form part of the agenda, ahead of 2025 Memberships going on sale in August.
The third Forum will be held on Thursday 8 August after Lancashire’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup fixture against Middlesex (approx. 30 mins after the close of play) at Emirates Old Trafford, whilst the final Forum of the year will then follow on Friday 8 November at midday, after a members’ coffee morning. Chris Peacock, Board Member (responsible for member services and communications) at Lancashire Cricket, said: “We’re really pleased to announce the dates for all four Members’ Forums throughout 2024.
“We believe that Members’ Forums are a particularly effective method of communication and provide us with a great way of keeping members up to date with everything going on at the Club, whilst also providing opportunities to ask questions to senior representatives from Lancashire Cricket. We also see them as the perfect opportunity to listen to members and receive feedback on what we’re doing.
“After listening to member feedback, the Club Rules were changed last year and mandate that four Members’ Forums will be held each year to further assist with member communication. We would encourage as many members as possible to attend the forums throughout 2024 to discuss important topics, both on and off the field.”
