Darcey Carter and Ailsa Lister extend contracts with Lancashire Cricket Women
Lancashire Cricket is delighted to announce that Scotland international duo Darcey Carter and Ailsa Lister have both signed contract extensions with Lancashire Women until the end of 2028.
The pair both helped Lancashire to double trophy success last season before playing a key role for Scotland this winter as they secured qualification to the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Spin bowling all-rounder Carter joined Lancashire Women permanently from Kent ahead of the 2025 season, following a brief loan spell at Emirates Old Trafford at the end of 2024.
The 20-year-old has made 11 appearances for Lancashire Women including the Metro Bank One-Day Cup final against Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl.
Carter has played 48 times for Scotland in ODI and T20I cricket. She has claimed 27 wickets, and has hit eight half-centuries across both formats, with a 50-over best of 86.

Lister – a versatile wicketkeeper batter with explosive power with the bat – joined Lancashire Women ahead of the 2024 season.
Following an injury-hit campaign in 2024, the now 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last summer as she was named as the Club’s Young Player of the Year for 2025.
Across 13 innings in last season’s Vitality Blast, Lister scored 281 runs at an average above 35, and in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, she scored 220 runs from 10 innings at an average of 26 including the winning runs in the final.
Lister has played 63 times for Scotland, scoring 931 runs across both white ball formats. She currently has four half-centuries to her name in T20I cricket.

Director of Women’s Cricket, David Thorley, said: “Darcey and Ailsa are two of the most exciting young players in the country, and we are absolutely delighted to have secured their futures with Lancashire through to 2028.
“Last season was a hugely positive one for both players. They embraced the step up to more regular senior cricket, made meaningful contributions at different points during the campaign, and showed they have the right temperament and skillset to succeed.
“What’s been particularly impressive is how they have translated that form onto the international stage. To play such key roles in helping Scotland qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is a fantastic achievement from their winter and they have both returned to us excited for the season ahead.”
