Sam Robson and Ben Geddes have gone for their shots, rattling up 36 off the first 6 overs, but Robson has gone for 14 to an outstanding, diving catch at midwicket by Tom Bailey off George Balderson's first delivery.

Chris Green skies a catch to deep mid-on attempting to hit out off Naavya Sharma. That's a career-best 4-17 for Sharma.

Middlesex need 117 to win, and in bowler-friendly conditions that is not necessarily an easy target going off what we've witnessed so far.

A double bowling change sees 7 valuable runs come from Seb Morgan's first over but Naavya Sharma strikes with his first ball, Matty Hurst edging to third slip for 7 followed by Tom Hartley edging behind first ball.  
Tom Bailey nudges the hat trick ball down to third man for four.

Astonishing! Toby Roland-Jones gets the ball past Mitch Stanley's forward defence, the ball hits the off stump but only the leg side bail falls off. Can't think I've seen that before. But Stanley is gone, bowled for 8.

Another blow for Lancashire as Toby Roland-Jones nips one back sharply to have Michael Jones lbw for 10.

Michael Jones has been proactive against Ryan Higgins advancing down the track a couple of times to the Middlesex seamer and getting a big inside edge the first time but then driving a lovely boundary through cover.

Ryan Higgins strikes a big blow, nipping one away from Marcus Harris that finds an edge to wicketkeeper Harry Duke.
Higgins now has 4-18.

It is a gloriously sunny day at Emirates Old Trafford for the third day of this Rothesay County Championship match with Middlesex, where will definitely have a minimum of 104 overs to bowl today.

Lancashire will resume their second innings on 45-3 leading by 77 runs with Marcus Harris on 1 and nightwatch Mitch Stanley on 2.
