Women's Cricket Through The Ages

Women's Cricket Through the Ages Exhibition

Emirates Old Trafford is delighted to be hosting the 'Women's Cricket Through the Ages Exhibition' in our Pavilion - and we are now able to share the exhibition online.

Cricket has traditionally been seen as a "male sport", despite the fact that women have played the game for just as long as men.

There is still a long way to go before women's cricket can be seen to be on an equal footing with the men's game. However, this exhibition also celebrates that women have travelled a long way since the first recorded match in 1745.

It is hoped that making the history of women's cricket more visible will help pave the way to a brighter future for the sport.

The ‘Women's Cricket Through the Ages’ exhibition was made possible thanks to the original ‘Evolution of Women’s Cricket’ exhibition, curated by Charlotte Goodhew, for MCC Museum at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

This original exhibition inspired and informed the Sky Sports documentary ‘Pushing Boundaries’

The ‘Evolution of Women’s Cricket’ continues to develop as clubs and communities are inspired to tell their stories.

You can hire the original exhibition through MCC and the Touring Exhibitions Group
