Jack Morley joins Derbyshire
Jack Morley has left Lancashire after the Club agreed to release him from his contract in order to accept an offer to join Derbyshire – where he spent part of last season on loan.
The left-arm spinner leaves Emirates Old Trafford after making 34 appearances across all competitions for the Red Rose and taking 54 wickets.
Morley, 23, played age-group cricket for Lancashire’s Under 15s and 17s and joined the Club’s Academy in 2018, before signing his maiden professional contract ahead of the 2019 season.
Speaking about the move, Jack Morley said: “I would like to thank everyone at Lancashire Cricket who has been involved in my journey for their help and support along the way.
“As a local lad who came through the Academy, I have loved every second of my six years with the Club.
“I will always keep following the Red Rose and I would like to wish all of the players, staff, Members and supporters the best of luck for the future.”
Director of Cricket Performance Mark Chilton also commented: “We have taken the difficult decision to release Jack from his contract to allow him to pursue a new opportunity at Derbyshire.
“On behalf of everyone at Lancashire Cricket, I would like to thank Jack for his contribution and service to the Red Rose since joining us at county age-group level.
“I would like wish Jack all the best for future and hope that he goes on to fulfil all of his ambitions within the game.”
