Richard Kenyon to join Lancashire Cricket on 5 October and lead cricket review
Lancashire Cricket can confirm that incoming Chief Executive Richard Kenyon will officially join the Club on Monday 5 October and lead a review of the Club’s cricket operation and performance structure once in position.
Richard joins from Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, where he has served as Chief Executive Officer, and brings extensive leadership and sporting experience, including more than a decade at Everton Football Club.
The review will build on the restructure initiated last week by Daniel Gidney and provide a clear, objective assessment of Lancashire Cricket’s performance environment, including the utilisation of its resources and funding.
As part of the cricket review, the Club will undertake a thorough assessment of the current structures, staff and player contracts, resources, and all aspects of the support underpinning the pathway from academy through to first team.
Richard will be supported by the experience and expertise of the Club’s Board, including John Abrahams, Mike Watkinson and Sir Clive Lloyd, as he undertakes the review.
Lancashire Cricket Chair, Dame Sarah Storey, said: “Richard’s arrival comes at an important moment for the Club. Among other items, as Lancashire Cricket’s new CEO, he will need to take a clear and objective look at our performance operation and what needs to change to improve results, particularly for our men’s side.
“Everyone associated with Lancashire Cricket has high ambitions for our professional teams. We must now take stock of what is needed to enable the teams to deliver across all formats, guided by the Club’s recently published Cricket Vision.
“I am looking forward to seeing Richard take on his new role and to the recommendations that emerge from his early weeks and months in post.”
Richard will assume responsibility as Chief Executive on 5 October and will work alongside outgoing Chief Executive Daniel Gidney throughout October to ensure a smooth and comprehensive handover.
