A change of bowling does the trick for Northamptonshire as Justin Broad traps Michael Jones lbw for 14 with his fourth delivery.

Luke Wells bowls a wider delivery outside off and Lewis McManus top edges a big pull that is caught at mid off by Josh Bohannon. McManus departs for 95 and is the second Northants batter to rather throw his wicket away just short of a century.

Back-to-back fours through mid on by Calvin Harrison off Tom Hartley force Lancashire to post a man at long-on. Harrison then strokes a single to that spot.

Tom Hartley and Luke Wells have managed to dry up the run scoring since the fall of that last wicket although Harrison breaks the shackles slightly with a nice off drive for four off Wells to end the over.

Justin Broad isn't so lucky this time as he is run out for 19 after a throw from Tom Bailey at midwicket lands a direct hit on the stumps at the bowler's end.
