Dane Vilas Returns for Red Ball Celebration Fixture
Lancashire Cricket can announce that former captain Dane Vilas will take part in a Q&A at the lunch break in the Members' Lounge on Day Two (Friday 21 August) of the Club's Red Ball Celebration fixture against Northamptonshire in the Rothesay County Championship.
Vilas spent seven seasons at Emirates Old Trafford between 2017 and 2023, four of them as captain, and remains one of the Club's most prolific modern-day batters. He scored 4,277 County Championship runs in 85 first-class appearances at an average of 38.88, including 10 centuries and a career-best 266 not out against Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay in 2019. Across all formats for the Red Rose, Vilas passed 7,000 runs in more than 200 appearances.

As captain, he led Lancashire to the Division Two title and promotion in 2019, before guiding the club to Championship runners-up spot in both 2021 and 2022. Under his leadership, Lancashire also reached three T20 Blast Finals Days and were runners-up in both the Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One-Day Cup in 2022.
The Club's inaugural Red Ball Celebration fixture forms part of its commitment to growing attendances for county cricket. Members will be able to claim two additional complimentary tickets on any day of their choice, offering the perfect opportunity to share the experience with friends and family.
Junior tickets are priced at just £1 per day for all four days, making this an ideal opportunity to introduce the next generation to first-class cricket - particularly during the school holidays.
Dane Vilas said: "I am delighted to be returning to Emirates Old Trafford for the Red Ball Celebration fixture in August. It's a great initiative and I'm excited to see some familiar faces on the day.
"It goes without saying that Lancashire means a great deal to me, having spent seven unforgettable seasons playing for the Club. I'm really looking forward to coming back up, speaking to members and supporting Crofty and the boys."
