Injury Update: Chris Green
Chris Green has been ruled out of the remainder of his overseas spell with Lancashire Cricket this summer after suffering a fractured thumb in last Friday's Vitality Blast match against Leicestershire Foxes.
The injury means Green will miss the remainder of the Vitality Blast campaign, as well as Lancashire's upcoming Rothesay County Championship fixtures.
Lancashire Cricket can also confirm that Green has signed a deal to return to the Club in 2027, when the Australian all-rounder will spend a fourth summer at Emirates Old Trafford.
Chris Green said: “I am gutted to be ending my stint at Lancashire earlier than planned this summer due to injury.
“I will be watching on and supporting the boys all the way, starting with a big Roses clash at Headingley tomorrow night.
“I am grateful to the Club for their support, and I am delighted that I will be back at Emirates Old Trafford in 2027. See you all soon!”
Director of Cricket Performance Mark Chilton added: “On behalf of everyone at Lancashire Cricket, I would like to wish Chris a speedy recovery.
“He has once again been an outstanding addition to the squad during his short time with us this summer, and we look forward to welcoming him back to Emirates Old Trafford in 2027.
“We are currently considering our options regarding a replacement overseas player for the remainder of the Vitality Blast campaign and the upcoming Rothesay County Championship fixtures.”
Lancashire Lightning face Yorkshire tomorrow at Headingley in the first Roses T20 of the season with squad news set to be released later today.
